Other causes of the cracked heel are, using harsh soaps, continuous exposure to water, standing for long hours, being overweight, cold weather, and wearing improper footwear. Symptoms and signs of the cracked feet are peeling skin, red or flaky patches, bleeding from the cracks and pain, and itchiness.

Here are some tips for making your feet crack free.

  1. Scrubbing

By scrubbing hard, the dead skin gets away and it will help in getting rid of the cracked feet. Just before scrubbing the feet, you have to soak your feet in the warm soapy water that will help in softening the skin and also make easier to scrub your feet.

So, before going to sleep at night, in a tub put some warm water and mix liquid soap in water. For about 2o min you have to soak your feet in the water. Use any brush or pumice stone for rubbing your heel so that loosened dry skin get scrub off. After this, you wash your feet with the clean water and then dry your feet with the soft towel. After that apply some foot cream and wear clean socks for overnight. You should use this tip until your cracked feet are healed.

  1. Mentholated Rub

The mentholated rub is another famous home remedy for the cracked heels. Because it contains several essential oils. It is also effective for the healing of toenail fungus.

For this, you have to apply this mentholated rub on your dry and clean feet at night. Then wear the clean pair of socks for overnight. In morning you remove your socks and wash your feet with the warm water. Do this remedy until your rough skin peels off.


  1. Coconut Oil

This is an incredible tip for cracked, dry feet. It will help in moisturizing your feet and it will also fight bacterial infections and fungal.

At night before sleep, you soak your feet in the warm water then scrub your feet with the loofah. After that dry your feet completely and apply the coconut oil gently on the feet. Then wear the clean cotton socks for the overnight. Next morning, after removing your socks wash your feet with normal water. You can do this until for your desired result.


  1. Use of Glycerin

Glycerin is a very good moisturizer. The Epsom provides the process of a healing for the cracked feet because it promotes the circulation. Moreover, the magnesium present in Epsom salt promotes the skin health and also draws out the toxins.

For this, you have to fill a tub with warm water and add 1-1\2 cup of the Epsom salt. You have to soak your feet in this tub for ten minutes. After that rub your feet with the brush or pumice stone for a while. Again put your feet in the Epsom salt water tub again for the ten minutes. At last, dry your feet with the clean towel completely and apply moisturizer on your feet.
